Let’s begin with EVERYONE is NOT on vacation. Yet it does seem that way when we’re:
> waiting on a decision
> making calls and only reaching voicemail
> tracking down a PO
Here are our UpYourTeleSales #InsideSales Tips to Survive Summer
1. ASK upfront “as we work on this, who is likely to take off for vacation and make your process longer?”
2. Make up a dial game – race someone to getting into a conversation OR who ever reaches someone last has to fetch everyone coffee OR whatever game sounds fun for that day.
3. ALWAYS send a follow-up email, people don’t necessarily change their voicemail while the majority put on an out of office email.
4. Switch it up and send an email first – calling second (see #3 for why) if you don’t gt an out of office.
5. When you receive an out of office alert – call their back up and offer your assistance (customers/hot prospects) or qualify them (when your cold calling/still in access gaining mode).
6. Add a week or two to your expected close dates, it’s just going to take longer than you want – get over it before you get frustrated.
and #7 is take a little vacation yourself!
