do you LOVE sales?

Here we are on Valentine’s Day, and I’m asking “do you LOVE sales?”

Sounds a bit like a gimmick doesn’t it.

The crazy thing is it’s not. I truly believe to be fantastic at anything, you must identify what you love about it.

Here are some answers my coaching clients have given me when I asked them; do you LOVE sales?
> I love solving problems
> I love helping people get what they want
> I love putting the puzzle together
> I love winning
> I love the flexibility I have

you see, it may not be sales in particular they love – but there is something about the process, the result, the career that excites them every single day.

Maybe instead of asking “do you LOVE sales?” I should have asked “WHAT do you LOVE about sales?”

I remember reading a long time ago in Zig Ziglars book,Ziglar on Selling he wrote “Let me encourage you to leave the Sales Profession if you can.” I always felt that the really great Sales People I have been lucky enough to meet or work with over the years have had Sales in their blood. As Zig said their heart and head wont allow them to do anything else.
