The 6 Factors of Trust

I’d love to be able to tell you I came up with these 6 Trust Factors, but the truth is the graphic came first and got me thinking about them. What I’m going to ask you to do is look at the definitions (from Merriam-Webster online) then answer three questions.

Integrity: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values

Sincerity: honesty of mind : freedom from hypocrisy

Reliability: suitable or fit to be relied on : DEPENDABLE (rely: to have confidence based on experience)

Consistency: firmness of constitution or character : PERSISTENCY

Commitment: an agreement or pledge to do something in the future

Competence: the quality or state of having sufficient knowledge, judgment, skill, or strength (as for a particular duty or in a particular respect)

Trust Factor Questions

  1. If I privately asked each member of your team to rate you on each of the 6 trust factors, how well would you score?
  2. When you look at each member of your team individually, how would you score them?
  3. Based on your answers to questions 1 & 2 – do you have a trust problem?
