Tell Yourself You CAN!

Last week I wrote about ALWAYS vs. OCCASIONALLY or SOMETIMES. Here are two more observations:

1st – most of the declarative statements salespeople make seem to be negative.

2nd – the words we choose have power, if you keep saying “no one ever calls me back” (or insert your own always/never here) my experience is – you’ll be correct.

Crazy idea; what if we were more deliberate about the positive statements we make?

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” ~ Henry Ford

Buddha- PattayaI know that might sound a little crazy but think about this. The person (or people) who carved Buddha into the side of a mountain certainly weren’t saying to themselves that it couldn’t be done!

They had to believe it was possible, then remind themselves through the process that it could be done, some days they were struggling to keep moving and had to make themselves push through.

At times it was probably important to take a step back (miles back in this scenario) and look at what they had accomplished, plus what was left to be done.
