Issue 10: Bridge Edition
If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you? For those of you who don’t know.
UpYourTeleSales.com is
AGAINST New Year’s Resolutions! They are the Brooklyn bridge of goal setting. Why? You ask... The reason has 3 parts (of course it does - most things you read here have three parts and it is unexplainable why)
The very first reason we’re against New Year’s Resolutions is that most seem to be born out of obligation. “What’s your New Year’s Resolution?”
There is a question we have all been asked hundreds if not thousands of times. All of the sudden, even if you didn’t want to - need to - or contemplate a resolution for the new year, there is a feeling that you SHOULD have one.
That we as individuals don’t believe BUT have taken on as our own. Stop shoulding all over yourself! If you’re going to set and work toward goals make sure they are your OWN goals. Stop and take a moment to decide if THAT is what you want your days to be filled with. If you answer yes, turn that inspiration into a goal right then & there. Built in way out 78% of people fail to achieve their New Year’s Resolutions according to Guardian News and Media Ltd. It seems like people quote statistics like that and others as their excuse for not sticking to their New Year’s Resolutions. It is almost a badge of honor to NOT stick with it. Like society peer pressure for every person to fail so no one feels badly about their personal failure. Don’t worry, no ranting or raving - those paragraphs have been deleted. Looking for failure justification before you even start is another reason to be against New Year’s Resolutions. Why wait? If you need a symbolic start date, how about Monday? Rubber Duckie Day? The next new moon? You choose and make the day symbolic for your new start. The important part is the INSPIRATION, followed of course by a plan and perspiration. If you’re putting off starting, it is time to evaluate what you’re afraid of. Sometimes fear is just:
Evidence Appearing Real Figure out what you’re afraid of - identify resources to help you overcome the obstacles - ask for help - take one step forward. You don’t have to see yourself achieving your goal tomorrow - rather you need to see yourself taking a baby step in the right direction, daily. A goal without a plan is just a dream. Dreaming is a wonderful place to start! UpYourTeleSales.com suggests that you build a bridge from your dreams into life by creating a plan around how to get there. When you’re inspired: START right away don’t wait for the New Year before you begin. Use your passion and enthusiasm to get you started! Wishing you success and joy in 2010 AND beyond. |

Let this be the bridge between your 2009 and the success you will find in 2010. After all - Construction began on the Brooklyn Bridge January 3rd way back in 1870 but wasn’t built in a day.
