It may feel and act like spring where you are.
I live in the Adirondack Mountains (northern New York) and although day time temperatures are in the 50s, most nights it’s still below freezing. Which means walking the dog is a combination of squishy mud holes & treacherous icy spots.
I actually CONSIDERED not wearing boots the other day. Not a good idea with the walking conditions… then I remembered I’d bought a pair of cute boots with outdoor safe bottoms, so I happily wore them.
Leadership decisions can be like that.
If we were to choose to STOP doing something that we’re tired of like my clunky hiking boots, the impact would be detrimental to the goals an objectives we have.
> our “instead of” choice
Rather we can look for an alternative that also helps meet our goals BUT is different, cute even.
> choosing between two things that move us forward.
Neither is right or wrong, just different – new feeling. Getting us excited again.
I think I’ll even wear my cute boots tomorrow, makes me want to pick an outfit to match.
Maybe your leadership strategies and tactics are feeling tired or stale – refresh yourself and your team, pick out your own new outfit to go with those cute boots!
