three questions to answer today

It’s almost that dreaded time of year… performance review/evaluation time.

Here are three questions to answer today about each member of your team to make it easier to fill out those HR required forms.

IMPORTANT safety tip… don’t wait do it today!

The longer you wait – the harder it is to remember the answers for the YEAR vs. basing your evaluation on the most recent thing that happened.

1> If I knew everything I know today about (insert name here) when I interviewed them, would I hire them?

2> What is one thing about (insert name here) I could praise them for and use as a topic in a team meeting?

3> The top success (insert name here) has had so far this year is ______________________.

Those answers will help you formulate your overall review, even if the questions seemingly have no correlation to the ones on your review form. They do answer a lot about the individual value of each member of your team.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t suggest you do this exercise at minimum quarterly. Monthly would make that review thing even easier… just sayin’
