Never forget the “social” in social media! and more inspired by @aliceheiman

When reading 9 Ways to Win More Sales with Social Media by Alice Heiman I came away with one reminder and one brand new thought about social media in the sales process.

The reminder is Never forget the “social” in social media!
> social media shouldn’t be all that different than sales in real life. Be social; express your interest in a topic, engage with people, show YOU are interested in them – to make them curious about you.

Too often people are yelling out into the void – instead of being social. No one wants to hear you yelling. Plus there isn’t anyone in a void.

Talk with your tribe, your target market, people you want to meet. Communicate as if it is one to one and for goodness sake stop yelling at everyone.

The brand new thought is intertwine social media throughout the entire process
> I had NEVER considered looking in between “prospecting” and “keeping people engaged after the sale” for where to place specific and planned social media interaction.
