Beware of the little voice in your head!

The second of my Top 5 #InsideSales Leadership Tips (for my 50th) is

I’m not kidding! Sometimes you have to tell the little voice in your head to SHUT UP and go for it.

Don’t get me wrong; I am a planner, a list maker, a thoughtful considerer (if that is even a word). There are times when it is critical to stop planning and start doing! Otherwise, nothing is ever accomplished.

Make sure there isn’t a little voice in your head that we could call “the doubter” who is stopping you from taking action.

Listening to the doubter is different than paying attention to your intuition!

The doubter is the internal voice of fear, uncertainty, and lack of conviction. It’s the voice that AlWAYS looks into the darkness and sees monsters there. The doubter is the voice that whispers all the worst things that can happen.

The weird thing, in my experience, is that the doubter never seems to look at the downside of doing nothing. The bad part of inaction.

Make sure you distinguish between your intuition (who sees the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful) and the doubter.

Listen to your intuition.

Tell the doubter to SHUT UP.
