I live in the Adirondack Mountains and I’ve come to realize something about myself. When I hike, I want there to be a view at the top.
Yes – I enjoy the journey, the hike, the climb. Without the view, I’m not interested.
I feel cheated when I get to the top and only see more trees.
Perhaps that is why I am so emphatic about celebrating success.
I believe inside salespeople need to celebrate:
* making one more dial
* every great conversation they have
* hitting your goal for number of business opportunities found
Celebrating the activity of sales is like enjoying the view when you get to the top. You’ve earned it – so enjoy it!
Then, of course, you have to keep going.
