Dials: 82 Ph Time: 23%

Have you ever had one of those days – where you don’t seem to reach any human beings on the phone?

I had one last week! The subject line of this post is what my statistics were for the day:
•    Dials: 82
•    Ph Time: 23%

Here are 7 tips (or maybe just observations)….

  1. If I didn’t have a plan for my voicemail w/email follow-up I would have been both VERY bored & extremely ineffective. I wrote a fun email – turned it into a silly voicemail (which I left a lot) and used it as my opening statement…. if you’re curious “What is better than a hot fudge sundae?” was my theme!
  2. If my voicemail and opening statement WEREN’T the same theme – the few times people answered I would have been SOL. How dumb would that have been as the entire reason I was dialing was to reach people?
  3. IM is my friend – there were a whole group of people who powered up my day via setting up power hour sessions which held me accountable to keep going – when in all honesty I didn’t want to.
  4. The same people, made me laugh instead of getting frustrated.
  5. The day wasn’t wasted – lots of people now have info on the topic, the company, and me. I moved closer to my objective of qualifying/disqualifying accounts.
  6. Additional statistic = Opportunities Found: 6 which never would have happened if I gave up!
  7. Today is a new day. I can’t wait to see what it brings. That enthusiasm is what keeps me in sales – I still get giddy when I find business opportunities!

  • Have a white board that everyone writes down one FANTASTIC thing that happened that day, before you leave. You’ll be amazed at the boost that will give you as you return to the office the next morning!

I hope your telesales day is both busy AND productive… although maybe it is all in how you look at it.
