11 Motivation Tips for Inside Salespeople

This whole list can probably be boiled down into one sentence: Know what YOU get from coming to work. Yet I feel that leaving it with that, doesn’t give you enough information on ways to do that so here are my 11 Motivation Tips for Inside Salespeople

1. Have a vision of what you want your life to look like
2. Define what your current role will do to help make your life become your vision
3. Every day work on the things that will make you successful in your current role AND move you toward your life’s vision
4. Prioritize EVERYTHING based on those factors

5. If you haven’t done a strength assessment – buy StrengthFinder 2.0 and do one
6. Work on figuring out how your strengths will help you have more of what you LOVE to do every day
7. Hold onto that feeling you get when you do something that makes you energized & feel strong…
7.a – Do more of that stuff!

8. Have an ideal customer profile
9. Prospect activity needs to ALWAYS be focused on finding out if the people you’re calling MEET your ideal customer profile.
10. Create an account base that meets your companies territory requirements for you AND your own ideal customer profile

11. If someone (internally at your company OR either a prospect or customer) asks you to do something (not just stuff you don’t want to do – anything someone asks) and you don’t know how it will help you move you both toward success in your current role AND/OR toward your life’s vision – ask for the why behind the request.

See it all comes down to: Know what YOU get from coming to work. Combined with doing it of course!
